Tips on utilising a toolkit

How to start and where to go?

Each and every toolkit is specifically designed to fit into various categories that will aid in choosing the best toolkit for your community engagement event. By looking at the different categories, find the one that best suits your event, compare and choose from the adapted toolkits. Selecting the one that suits your budget, time and audience size.

How to get organised?

By downloading the PDF version of the toolkit, it will allow you to break the toolkit down into its specific steps and take it with you to the event for reference. Making sure you are selecting the right toolkit for your target audience is very important, so we suggest selecting a handful to compare between or even experiment with.

Where to get the tools?

When choosing the tools and materials needed for the toolkit, consider price and wearability. Set yourself a budget and ask yourself if you will be needing these materials to last or re-use the toolkit in future. Consider even renting, borrowing or thrifting.

What problems could I face?

When looking at utilising the toolkit, make sure you take into consideration the team you will need in place and the preparation behind it. Will there need to be meetings, explanatory leaflets, and an explanation to your audience, will it range over a few dates and will information be taken? Will the data collected be used and therefore will there need to be GDPR forms in place?
